Girl Scouts treat seniors
Girl Scout Troop 8121 rocks! 🤦 👧 🤷😄 Thirty Park Stockdale seniors shared breakfast together this morning. As part of their community outreach, Girl Scouts prepared a feast including: 🥞pancakes, eggs, 🥓bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee.The oldest Park Stockdale residents were acknowledged with smiles 🤗, prizes and applause. Numerous people said they had a great time and their facial expressions confirmed it.Three
firemen from Fire Station 11 shared safety tips and answered questions. Capt. Frank said don’t call 911 in non-emergencies when you need help to get a non-injured person up. Instead call (661) 324-6551.Funds were provided by Thrivent Action Team.

Free senior breakfast
Girl Scout troop 1821 is serving up a free breakfast for Park Stockdale senior citizens at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the Park Stockdale hall.
Make reservations by calling the Park Stockdale office, 323-4302.
The Bakersfield Fire Department will also make a presentation on safety.

The Park Stockdale board of directors would like residents’ suggestions for community activities.
Are you interested in: a bike rodeo, senior breakfast, pancake breakfast, Halloween costume contest, Christmas caroling, children’s story time, track and field meet, tennis tournament, movies in the park (if someone has a screen and projector)?

How to have your bank pay your dues
If you would like to pay your dues online, contact your bank regarding its procedures.

People usually thank sponsors and supporters at the end of an event. We want to acknowledge our supporters now.
Girl Scout Troop 1821 👭 will be serving as hostesses, and are making SWAPS for those who walk a lap or three around the park.
Thrivent provided funds💲and 👕 tee shirts and supplies for our Thrivent Action Team.
The Bakersfield Police Department is providing information on bike safety 🚴 and will be sponsoring our upcoming Bike Rodeo.
Trader Joe’s is going to give us fresh fruit for snacks. 🍎
SLP donated Fun Fitness cookies. 🍪
We do hope you all come ~ adults ~ kids ~ families. Do some exercises on the ParkCourse, walk a lap or three on the ParkWalk at our own neighborhood Harrington Park.

Pool opens Memorial Day Monday
The annual opening of the pool got pushed back two days this year.The pool opened to residents and guests on Memorial Day Monday rather than the traditional Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
The two-day delay was because the final day of lifeguard certification was May 30.
Pool is opens weekends only (June 5-6) until Van Horn School gets out. Pool opens daily June 9.
When pool is open, hours are always noon-8 p.m.
In the late summer the reverse is true. Once Van Horn is back in session, the pool will be open weekends only through Labor Day.The pool is open daily to adult lap swimmers from 6-8 a.m. For a key to the second gate, go to the office during business hours 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
No lifeguard is on duty for morning lap swimming.
