The Park Stockdale Civic Association will host a hamburger and hot dog barbecue at the pool at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
Residents are encouraged to bring a side dish to share.
Two lifeguards will be honored at the barbecue for their quick and decisive action in rescuing a father and son.
On July 9, lifeguards Jason Jones and Aeden Thompson responded immediately when the father yelled for help as he struggled to guide his young son to the side after his first jump off the diving board.
