Camaraderie at the movies
More than two dozen residents enjoyed a family movie next to the park pavilion at dusk Friday night, according to organizer and board member Roxanne Fackler.
The movie was shown on a large inflatable screen with new, louder speakers, set up by board member Eli Hamm and resident Adam Johnson.
Four young girls, around age 3, made friends with each other and gathered their chairs together to enjoy the film as they ate freshly made popcorn popped by Fackler and board member Ana Flores.
The movies are one of the occasional community events sponsored by the Park Stockdale Civic Association Board of Directors.

Popsicles at the pool
About 40 residents enjoyed popsicles, Fudge Pops and Rice Krispie treats at the pool on Labor Day.
Board members Ana Flores and Roxanne Fackler distributed the sweets to a line of appreciative children led by Mya Flores. Also pictured are a very happy Allie and Joey Galuska.
Regular pool hours with lifeguards are now done for the season.
The pool, however, will remain open in the mornings for adult lap swimming until the pool is covered for the season. Lifeguards are not available for lap swimming hours.
