Many thanks to the community-minded residents filled with holiday spirit who made last night’s first Christmas in the Park a success.

The event, featuring a costumed car parade, outdoor movie and plenty of treats, was sponsored by the Park Stockdale Civic Assiciation and spearheaded by Roxanne Fackler and John Prince.
Other board members who donated time and/or food included: Susan Tuttle, Rachel Kirk, Kiki Contreras, Dennis Shea and Jim Carnal. Volunteer Melissa Martinez was also instrumental in the production.
Alicja Burnett, with boyfriend Scout Claassen as the grinch on the car roof, led a string of 10 decorated cars, Christmas music playing and horns a beeping, through the neighborhood.
Upon their return to the park, more than five dozen residents enjoyed pizza provided by BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Residents donated hot chocolate, coffee, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, cookies and popcorn.
With tummies as full as St. Nick’s, residents donned blankets to watch a classic Christmas movie.
