Park Stockdale is a neighborhood of 578 homes located in beautiful southwest Bakersfield With entrances at Rio Bravo DrIVE and Lennox AveNUE. Park Stockdale is a quiet, mature community with a distinctive character not seen IN the newer housing tracts where it is difficult to tell one house from the next.
Residents enjoy community amenities including four full-size tennis courts, a five-lane, 75-foot-long swimming pool with diving board, Harrington Park – a private community park/playground, and Frank Weldon Community Hall – the neighborhood community center. Regular neighborhood activities include T-Ball, bi-annual neighborhood-wide yard sales, and seasonal neighborhood events.

Community yard sale
The semi-annual Park Stockdale neighborhood yard sale will be held the morning of Saturday, Oct. 4.
The yard sales are held the first Saturday in October and April.

Popsicles at the pool
About 40 residents enjoyed popsicles, Fudge Pops and Rice Krispie treats at the pool on Labor Day.
Board members Ana Flores and Roxanne Fackler distributed the sweets to a line of appreciative children led by Mya Flores. Also pictured are a very happy Allie and Joey Galuska.
Regular pool hours with lifeguards are now done for the season.
The pool, however, will remain open in the mornings for adult lap swimming until the pool is covered for the season. Lifeguards are not available for lap swimming hours.

Popsicles at the pool
The Park Stockdale Civic Association board of directors will provide popsicles from 6 to 8 p.m. on Labor Day.
The pool will close for the season at 8 p.m. on Labor Day.
The pool, however, will remain open in the mornings for adult lap swimming until the pool is covered for the season. Lifeguards are not available for lap swimming hours.

Pool switches to weekend hours
Now that school has started, the pool will only be open from noon to 8 p.m. weekends and on Labor Day. The pool is scheduled to close after Labor Day, Sept. 1.
Residents may invite two guests each with a limit of three accompanying residents with six guests.
Residents enjoy a movie in the park
About 50 Park Stockdale residents enjoyed “Alice in Wonderland” by the Harrington Park pavilion after dusk Friday, June 27.
Popcorn, lemonade and water were provided to the theater goers as they lounged in lawn chairs under a new moon.
