Park Stockdale

Park Stockdale is a neighborhood of 578 homes located in beautiful southwest Bakersfield With entrances at Rio Bravo DrIVE and Lennox AveNUE. Park Stockdale is a quiet, mature community with a distinctive character not seen IN the newer housing tracts where it is difficult to tell one house from the next.

Residents enjoy community amenities including four full-size tennis courts, a five-lane, 75-foot-long swimming pool with diving board, Harrington Park – a private community park/playground, and Frank Weldon Community Hall – the neighborhood community center. Regular neighborhood activities include T-Ball, bi-annual neighborhood-wide yard sales, and seasonal neighborhood events.

Pool open 4-8 Sept. 11

The weather is hot and the pool is still warm so the pool will be open from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11.

Girl Scouts treat seniors

Girl Scout Troop 8121 rocks!  🤦 👧 🤷
😄 Thirty Park Stockdale seniors shared breakfast together this morning. As part of their community outreach, Girl Scouts prepared a feast including: 🥞pancakes, eggs, 🥓bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee.
The oldest Park Stockdale residents were acknowledged with smiles 🤗, prizes and applause. Numerous people said they had a great time and their facial expressions confirmed it.
Three firemen from Fire Station 11 shared safety tips and answered questions. Capt. Frank said don’t call 911 in non-emergencies when you need help to get a non-injured person up.  Instead call (661) 324-6551.
Funds were provided by Thrivent Action Team.

Free senior breakfast

Girl Scout troop 1821 is serving up a free breakfast for Park Stockdale senior citizens at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the Park Stockdale hall.

Make reservations by calling the Park Stockdale office, 323-4302.

The Bakersfield Fire Department will also make a presentation on safety.

Community activities input sought

The Park Stockdale board of directors would like residents’ suggestions for community activities.

Are you interested in: a bike rodeo, senior breakfast, pancake breakfast, Halloween costume contest, Christmas caroling, children’s story time, track and field meet, tennis tournament, movies in the park (if someone has a screen and projector)?
